What they don't want you to know
New Book Reveals Features, Flaws of Workers' Compensation Laws Understanding the many facets of workers-compensation can be difficult, if not insurmountable, task. Oftentimes, laws are written to the detriment of the injured and strip victums of their rights. In Melvônn's latest book, "What Lies Beneath Workers-Compendation: Volume 2" (published by AuthorHouse), workers' compensation expert and survivor Melvôn Anderson reveals the truth behind this complicated set of laws.
Learn more about the book
Anderson offers a comprehensive overview of the rights and benefits included in workers' compensation that are often overlooked, sometimes deliberately, by doctors, attorneys and employers. "There is information available to help an employee during these difficult times,It's just hidden." The emotional turmoil of dealing with different agencies, the loss of income, or significant reduction in income can put a great deal of stress on an employee injured on-the-job. "No one ever takes steps to help with the emotional scars that a job injury does to you and your family," Anderson says.
Don't be a number to the government
Exposing these resources is Anderson's main focus. She uses her own experience and others dealing with an on-the-job injury to reveal important features-and faults-of the workers-compensation law. Fighting to change workers' compensation laws to benefit the working class of America is also a key concept of Anderson's book. She feels that the laws for work related injures "are written to protect the employer and not the employee." Anderson encourages those suffering from workplace injuries to know the laws and take the appropriate steps to claim the proper resolution.
